MANAGER, REHAB SERVICES & ORTHOPAEDIC CLINICS

(1) Position: Full Time

POSITION DESCRIPTION

As a self-directed health care professional with well developed clinical leadership and critical thinking skills, you will lead diverse health care teams in both ambulatory and inpatient settings. You will manage the day to day operations of a variety of programs including Inpatient and Outpatient Rehabilitation Services, Fracture Clinic, The Total Joint Assessment Centre (TJAC), Falls Clinic and Prevention Program and Outpatient Videofluroscopy. In this role, you will support a variety of health disciplines, developing both profession and program specific teams as well as collaborating with other units/departments to optimize the role of rehabilitation professionals hospital wide. Health disciplines within these teams include Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Orthopaedic Technologists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Social Workers, as well as Nursing. As a highly energetic, self-directed, and motivated individual, you will work within this dynamic environment to maintain a focus on the delivery of high quality, patient centered, interprofessional care.

Specific to this portfolio, you will have a strong clinical background and will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of patient care including efficient and effective delivery of services as well as financial and human resource management. You will have a critical role in collaborating with interdisciplinary teams hospital-wide, facilitating internal and external partnerships to enhance the integration and coordination of rehabilitation and orthopaedic services.

Working collaboratively with the interprofessional team, Professional Practice Representatives and other leaders in the organization, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of new and innovative programs and practices, structures and process standards, policies and procedures and annual goals and objectives while ensuring compliance with legislative and professional standards. In addition, you will be responsible for continuing the development of the programs and hospital strategic direction.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Baccalaureate degree required and current Certificate of Registration with a Regulated Health Profession
  • 3-5 years recent clinical experience in a rehab setting is an asset
  • 3-5 years experience in a formal leadership role
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development
  • Familiarity with Workload Measurement guidelines, implementation and interpretation
  • Well developed critical thinking skills are essential
  • Working knowledge of MS Office
  • Demonstrated good attendance record with the ability to maintain this same standard
  • Demonstrated commitment to a safe environment for staff, patients and families by working in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and related Hospital policies.
