Organizational Structure
The Board of Directors is the governing body of the Association and is comprised of member volunteers elected by the membership. It is legally responsible for the activities that OPA undertakes and the funds that the Association collects and spends. It sets policies, determines the budget, and hires a Chief Executive Officer to implement the Association's policies and programs. The effectiveness of OPA in representing the interests and concerns of the physiotherapy profession is in having a solid network to tap into province-wide. OPA's 15 districts are critical to ensuring the Association has a broad base of support and that members can bring the unique perspective of local health issues and professional matters to the provincial level with ease.

In addition to the districts, OPA has numerous committees, task forces and councils working with the Board of Directors and OPA staff.
The Association's organizational structure is open, transparent, flexible and above all participatory to ensure the profession is engaged in the health care policies and programs that affect current practice and future opportunities.
