Regular Full-Time Position

Located on the coast of beautiful Georgian Bay, our facility offers the best that both nature and technology can offer. We work in one of Canada’s most modern health care facilities and live in one of Canada’s top outdoor adventure destinations. You can get from desk to dock in 10 minutes!

Being a member of the WPSHC team means you work with a leadership team that is collaborative and approachable. WPSHC team members are passionate and dedicated to delivering high-quality patient and family-centered care. Our team approach offers Physiotherapists the opportunity to use their complete skill set in a modern environment.

Are you a Physiotherapist looking to expand your clinical expertise and make a meaningful impact in orthopaedic care? We are currently seeking a Registered Physiotherapist to join our dynamic team in a role that includes involvement with the North East Joint Assessment Centre (NEJAC).

NEJAC is a regional initiative that helps reduce wait times for patients with hip and knee arthritis. As part of this role, the Physiotherapist will work as an Advanced Practice Physiotherapist (APP) conducting musculoskeletal assessments and collaborating closely with referring physicians and orthopaedic surgeons.

No prior APP experience? No problem. We are committed to supporting your professional growth and will provide training and mentorship for this advanced clinical role. This is a unique opportunity to diversify your scope of practice, contribute to system improvements, and enhance patient care pathways.

The APP responsibilities make up only a portion of this position, allowing you to maintain a broad, engaging clinical caseload across other physiotherapy areas. The successful applicant will work as part of an interdisciplinary team with an in-house mentor to provide inpatient and outpatient assessment, consultation, and treatment services; enjoy the benefits of working in a newer facility; and experience a diverse caseload with a wide variety of both established and evolving programs.  In addition, responsibilities will include but are not limited to establishing treatment goals, maintaining clinical and statistical records, conferring with physicians, patient teaching, and contributing to departmental strategic planning.

Basic Requirements

  • Successful completion of a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy or equivalent;
  • Current license or eligibility for membership with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (Resident Physiotherapist);
  • Current membership in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (Physiotherapist);

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a full caseload;
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team;
  • Current CPR basic rescuer certificate;
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and maintenance of high professional standards;

  • Demonstrated knowledge of various computer applications and software related to healthcare programs;
  • Ability to work in a manner that exemplifies the core values of the West Parry Sound Health Centre: Compassion, Accountability, Rights and Responsibility, Excellence, and Safety.
