Temporomandibular joint disorders (TMD) and cervicogenic orofacial headaches are frequently encountered in physiotherapy practice, yet they are often under-assessed and under-treated. This comprehensive 2-day course equips physiotherapists with the anatomical, clinical, and practical knowledge needed to confidently assess, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with TMD and headache complaints.
Through a combination of lectures, demonstrations, case-based discussions, and hands-on labs, participants will explore the functional biomechanics of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ), the interplay between the jaw and cervical spine, and the multifactorial contributors to pain and dysfunction, including myofascial, arthrogenous, postural, and psychosocial elements.
Participants will learn how to perform a detailed TMJ and headache evaluation, developing individualized treatment strategies using manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, soft tissue techniques, and exercise prescription.
