ABOUT OPA Committees

Committees drive our strategic work forward

OPA Committees are made up of valuable member volunteers from across the province. They contribute directly to the activities of the Board by bringing forth knowledge and expertise in various sectors and areas of practice.

Committees also support OPA staff in the development and implementation of strategic initiatives for the Association.

TWO TYPES OF COMMITTEES

Committees help OPA meet its goals

OPA has two types of committees:

  • Committees of the Board, which include Governance, Finance, Education, and Awards.
  • Advisory Committees, which are formed based on four main sectors: private practice, hospital, home care, and primary care.
COMMITTEES OF THE BOARD

Governance Committee

The Governance Committee is responsible for Board Development, nominations, leadership development, and advising the Board on governance-related policies, bylaws, and processes.

COMMITTEES OF THE BOARD

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee regularly reviews financial statements and policies of the Association. They advise the Board on issues related to the finances and budget of the Association.

COMMITTEES OF THE BOARD

Education Committee

The Education Committee acts as a resource to OPA staff and the Board. Committee members advise on matters relating to Professional Development and Educational Programming of OPA’s annual conference, InterACTION, to provide OPA members with meaningful and relevant learning opportunities.

COMMITTEES OF THE BOARD

Awards Committee

Members of the Awards Committee support OPA’s annual special awards program and promote the recognition and development of leaders within the profession. The committee engages in consultations to support inclusivity and diversity among award recipients, to celebrate the many types of innovation, leadership, and success in the profession.

Advisory Committees

Four committees represent key practice areas

These advisory committees focus on the unique needs and challenges within specific practice settings. Each committee provides specialized expertise to guide OPA’s advocacy and member support efforts.
