President
Courtney is VHA Home HealthCare’s Vice President, Strategic Solutions & Partnerships implementing strategic and growth initiatives advancing integrated care delivery models in Ontario. A past OPA Board Director (2016–2020), Courtney is OPA’s President for 2024-2026. With clinical and leadership experience between the USA and Canada, he champions the role of home care in system transformation. A graduate of U of T’s PT Department, Courtney has also completed an orthopaedic residency and clinical doctorate with the Ola Grimsby Institute and a leadership residency, the EXTRA program, with HEC. CEO
Sarah is an accomplished health care executive with over 30 years of leadership experience. She brings to the role of CEO of OPA a very unique combination of health professional regulatory and professional association experience in health care, along with a strong results focused experience in member advocacy, strategy, policy, and program and service delivery. Her prior experience as the CEO of OntarioMD, a subsidiary of the Ontario Medical Association, focused on supporting and enabling digital transformation working with clinicians, the government, Ontario Health and key stakeholders across the province. She has demonstrated experience and success in results-oriented delivery with strategic partnerships across Canada. President-Elect
Charlotte Anderson (MSc. PT, PhD) is the President-Elect. She joined the Board as a Director in 2023. Charlotte is the Founder of ALPHA Health Services and 360 Concussion Care. She works to bridge the gap between private and public healthcare in Ontario to foster collaboration between practitioners along a patient’s continuum of care. She earned her PhD form the University of Toronto, and her subsequent research has been in concussion clinical care and Ontario health systems research. Charlotte practices clinically in Toronto and is an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto.
Secretary
Magda holds the position of Secretary on the Board of Directors and has been on the Board for three years. Magda is based in Hamilton Ontario where she works for St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton. She is passionate about patient centered care, advocacy for the profession, teaching, and overall quality improvement. Magda completed her Masters in Health Management (MHM) at McMaster University in 2024 and has promoted interdisciplinary teamwork through her leadership opportunities.
David joined the Board in 2025. He is the owner of Shelburne Physiotherapy Centre. He has been a physiotherapist for over 20 years practicing in Ontario and California. David has been an active member of the OPA participating in committee work for Community Physiotherapy Clinics and the Fee Structure Committee. His focus on collaborative care within the community has led to multiple board positions with the local family health team, community DEIA chair and local youth sports. David has an extensive background in outdoor sport and runs a large youth adventure race series Kids Adventure Games Canada/Primal Quest Inc. David has been a clinical instructor for the majority of his career in Canada and the US. He has a passion for mentoring and instructing students. David believes that through strong advocacy together we can expand the scope of practice and utilization of Ontario physiotherapists.
Jennifer joined the Board in 2025. She is the owner of InsideOut Physiotherapy & Wellness Group in Toronto. Throughout her 25 years practicing in the public and private sectors, Jennifer has thrived on promoting life-long learning and growing the profession. She hosts and teaches a series of post graduate professional and clinical courses. Her advocacy is rooted in being a part of the OPA Private Practice Advisory Committee and a clinical lecturer at the University of Toronto Business and Practice Management program. As a CPA member, Jennifer has been involved in the Sports, Acupuncture, and Private Practice Divisions. Jennifer is passionate about growing the OPA membership and advocating for physiotherapists’ expanded scope of practice to improve patients’ quality of care.
Wing Ting joined the Board in 2024. Wing Ting is a clinician and health care leader holding a Master’s in Health Management from McMaster University. Her work focuses on advocacy for physiotherapy and allied health professions, strategic planning for the rehabilitation sector, and advancing quality and safety improvement in healthcare. She is dedicated to enhancing healthcare equity and improving access to rehabilitation services. With clinical experience across private practice, primary care, and acute care settings in Quebec, Ontario, and British Columbia, she brings a comprehensive perspective to system-level improvements in patient care.
Manuel joined the Board in 2024. Manuel has been a physiotherapist for over 18 years with experience that has spanned different countries. His journey to practice In Ontario as a Physiotherapist has fueled his advocacy for internationally educated physiotherapists. He is a collaborator and was part of a group of individuals (Canada wide) who collaborated with the Canadian Alliance of Physiotherapy Regulators (CAPR), College of Physiotherapist of Ontario (CPO), CPA/OPA and University of Toronto trying to create alternatives for CAPR’s clinical exam (PCE) during COVID. Manuel is a dedicated advocate for the seamless integration of Internationally Educated Physiotherapists into the Canadian healthcare system and highlights the need for funding bridging programs nationwide. It is his passion for collaboration and commitment to advancing the needs of the profession that has inspired him in his role as a Director.
Terry joined the Board in 2025. Terry is current the Clinic Director and Physiotherapist at Lifemark Physiotherapy Bathurst & St. Clair in Toronto, where he leads a team of 15 skilled clinicians and administrative staff. He is experienced in a range of rehabilitation programs, including private and extended health coverage (EHC) clients, CPC program, LTD, MVA, WSIB and the PCVRS veteran program. Beyond his clinical and leadership roles, he is passionate about mentoring and student engagement and continues to supervise clinical placements. Terry is multi-lingual and speaks English, French and Chinese.
Kyle joined the Board in 2024. Kyle is the founder of Propel Physiotherapy – which includes 3 interdisciplinary treatment centres for neurological and complex orthopaedic conditions across Ontario. He has over 20 years of experience working in rehabilitation and private practice where he brings is passion for clinical care, education and advocacy. He is focussed on bringing change across the system to improve the experience for both patients and clinicians. Kyle is an adjunct lecturer and lab clinician at the University of Toronto Department of Physical Therapy Program where he mentors students soon to enter the profession.
Education Committee Chair, MScPT, MHM
Jaimie is an Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto. Jaimie is the graduate coordinator for the Physical Therapy program and also teaches cardiorespiratory content. Jaimie Coleman is also a PhD student in the Health Professions Education Research (HPER) program at U of T
Finance Committee Chair
Oren graduated from Queens University in 1996. Working in Hamilton since then, Oren specialized in treating people with cancer. He was previously an OPA Board Member and President. To continue contributing to the profession he now chairs the Finance Committee of OPA, and is an executive member of the Oncology Division of CPA.
Home Care Advisory Committee Chair, MSc(PT), BHSc (Hons)
Sarah is a Physiotherapist and Certified Health Executive who is the Vice President, Clinical Services at Central West Specialized Developmental Services. She holds a Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) and a Master of Science (Physiotherapy) from McMaster University. Sarah is an Adjunct Lecturer in the Rehabilitation Sciences Sector at the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto.
Central Toronto District Co-Presidents,MScPT, BHK (Hons)
Simona is a recent graduate from the University of Toronto MScPT program. During her studies she was a student representative for the Central Toronto District. Simona is passionate about advocacy and bringing communities together, so she decided to continue working with CTD, but stepped into her new role as the co-president. She currently works in private practice.
Central Toronto District Co-Presidents, MScPT, BKin, CSCS
Tiffany Tiu is a physiotherapy resident in Toronto. She is passionate about improving practice standards through knowledge mobilization. She hosts Paincast, a CPA podcast. She is also a clinician-researcher at the Biomechanics of Orthopaedic Sports Medicine lab at the University of Toronto. She was awarded the CPA Student Leadership Award and the OPA Student Leadership Award in 2023.
Georgian Bay District President, MSc PT
Matt is a private practice clinic owner and physiotherapist committed to advancing the profession. With a passion for patient care and advocacy, he strives to support the growth of physiotherapy in Ontario by promoting accessibility, excellence in practice, and collaboration within the healthcare community.
Kawartha District President,FCAMPT, MClSc, MScPT
I became a physiotherapist in 2010, I earned my FCAMPT designation in 2016, and in 2020, I started working in pelvic health. In 2018, my husband and I purchased Trent Health in Motion, a multidisciplinary clinic at Trent University. I currently divide my time between clinical practice and growing our business.
Kitchener-Waterloo District President,PT, MPT, MSc, FCAMPT
Amy VanSchyndel is a CAMPT-certified Registered Physiotherapist practicing primarily in outpatient orthopaedics in the private sector. She became the President of the Kitchener-Waterloo District of the OPA in 2021 after serving on the Committee since 2016 as Secretary. She is passionate about leadership and advocacy within the physiotherapy profession.
Niagara District President
Kelly is currently enjoying her role as a full-time professor and coordinator of the OTA & PTA program at Niagara College. She continues to practice part-time at the Haldimand War Memorial Hospital in Dunnville and at an outpatient clinic in Welland.
Northern Ontario District President
Venkadesan Rajendran, a graduate of Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, has been practicing physiotherapy in Northern Ontario since 2014. In his current role as an advanced practice physiotherapist in medicine and stroke, he conducts research in addition to his clinical role. He is also an assistant clinical professor at NOSM University and supervises clinical placements for MPT students.
Quinte-St. Lawrence District President
Alyssa has been a physiotherapist and OPA member since 2019. She works in Acute Care with Neurological populations including Acquired Brain Injuries and Spinal Cord Injuries. She is a passionate advocate and has been involved as an OPA volunteer since 2020.
York Region & Scarborough District President
Alyssa is a dedicated Physiotherapy Resident born and raised in Markham, Ontario. She works at The Physio Spot, a private practice in Markham, where she is dedicated to helping patients recover and achieve their movement goals. Passionate about her community and profession, she serves as the President of the York Region and Scarborough District of the Ontario Physiotherapy Association.
Westgate District President
Mujeeb is passionate about orthopaedics, patient care, and contributing towards the advancement of the profession. He is a private practise physiotherapist at Align Physiotherapy + Sports Clinic in Mississauga, Ontario. He utilizes his advanced orthopaedic training to mentor other physiotherapists and physiotherapy students interested in challenging their clinical approach and treatment skills.

Director, Practice, Policy & Member Services
The Director Practice, Policy and Member Services is the Association’s primary contact with and resource to staff, members, volunteers and the public in the areas of practice and policy related to physiotherapy in Ontario. She manages activities regarding member service offerings, professional practice issues and resources, advocacy projects, and the building of strategic partnerships. Project Manager, Practice and Policy
Aleksandra (Alli) focuses on projects that support engagement and capacity building through regional and individual development of physiotherapy networks to build a community of advocates and to support workforce/workplace excellence.
