Permanent, Part Time (0.6 FTE) – 24 hours per week

The Policy Analyst reports to the Director of Practice and Policy. Their focus is the development and implementation of projects related to practice and policy issues affecting the physiotherapy profession in Ontario. The Policy Analyst will seek out trends, monitor and respond to practice and policy issues, complete analyses and make recommendations to achieve strategic goals and priorities of the Association, and lead the development and implementation of advocacy initiatives and member resources.   

 Responsibilities include: 

  • Performing comprehensive research and analysis of complex practice and policy issues. 
  • Facilitating volunteer/stakeholder engagement to achieve practice and policy goals and objectives. 
  • Preparation of reports, briefings, presentations and other written communication for internal and external audiences. 
  • Developing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with stakeholders including regulatory college, government, health system entities and other associations.
  • Leading projects and supporting activities to achieve the advocacy, policy and practice goals and objectives of the Association. 

Qualifications: 

  • Physiotherapy degree (MSc or BSc) or University degree in a related field (e.g. public health, health policy, public or business administration) 
  • Understanding of the roles and inter-relationships of stakeholders in the Ontario health system 
  • Knowledge of policy analysis, development and implementation methodology 
  • Qualitative and quantitative research/evaluation skills 
  • Strong analytical, facilitation, project management and communication skills  
  • Ability to research and synthesize complex information 
  • Effective independent and team skills with ability to build relationships and engage stakeholders  
  • 3+ years policy experience in health and/or not-for-profit environment in related areas an asset 
  • Experience working with volunteers  

Location

Hybrid: This position is a combination of work from home and in-person at our office location at 110 Sheppard Ave East, Toronto. The successful candidate will need to be available to work regular hours and occasional evenings and weekends. 

Salary Range: $72,000 to $84,000 pro-rated to 0.6 FTE. Offer commensurate with experience. Comprehensive Benefits Package, including HOOPP.
