Overview:
The candidate is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating musculoskeletal and movement-related conditions within an active population. They will work collaboratively within a fun and fast paced multidisciplinary sports medicine team to promote injury recovery, optimize performance, and prevent re-injury. Supportive and collaborative work environment focusing on expert, high quality care for all patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including history-taking, physical exams, and functional testing.
  • Develop individualized high quality treatment plans using evidence-based interventions (e.g., manual therapy, exercise prescription, modalities, education).
  • Collaborate with sports medicine physicians, sports physiotherapist, athletic therapists, massage therapists, sports dietitians and strength coaches for integrated care.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential clinical documentation in accordance with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (CPO) standards.
  • Educate patients on injury prevention, rehabilitation progress, and self-management strategies.
  • Refer to and communicate with other healthcare providers when appropriate (internally and externally)
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Mandatory:
    o Master’s (or equivalent) degree in Physiotherapy.
    o Registration in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.
    o Valid professional liability insurance.
  • Recommended:
    o 2 years of clinical experience is preferred but new grads are welcome to apply
    o Completion or in pursuit of Certificate and Diploma in Sports Physiotherapy is an asset
    o Completion or in pursuit of Pelvic Floor specialization is an asset
    o Completion or in pursuit of FCAMPT is an asset
    o Rostered for acupuncture / dry needling is an asset
    o Concussion management certification is an asset
    o Additional professional development training may be an asset and will be considered on a case-by-case basis

Compliance:
Must adhere to all standards, guidelines, and ethical codes set by the CPO, including documentation, consent, and controlled act regulations in addition to ISP’s professional standards.

Compensation:

  • Independent contractor basis.
  • Compensation: 40–55% of billable services, depending on experience and professional development.
