Introduction to Acupuncture & Dry Needling

Covers the history of acupuncture and dry needling and current research on effects of various types of needling on a variety of conditions. You will learn over 20 acupuncture points over 8 dry needling motor points including safety, technique, and anatomical location.

Course covers clean needle technique, precautions and contraindications, measurement system, types of acupuncture points, types of dry needling and management of all possible adverse events.

Covers theories of mechanisms of action of acupuncture and dry needling, assessment and development of needling treatment approaches, adjustments to needling based on patient response.

This course is a pre-requisite for all other courses offered (for example, the Lower Extremity and Lumbopelvic Acupuncture & Dry Needling course in June, 2026).
