Participants who register for this course have the option to attend the course live-online and/or watch the recording later. Course Description:

The Pelvic Floor Within Sports Medicine is a 3-hour online interactive seminar that aims to bridge the gap between sports medicine and pelvic health. The course offers insights into pelvic floor anatomy and function, pelvic floor dysfunction, screening, application of sports medicine principles, management and case examples.

Objectives – this course will provide attendee’s with:

  • an understanding of why the pelvic floor is part of sports medicine
  • an overview of pelvic floor anatomy and function
  • an overview of the dysfunctional pelvic floor
  • an understanding of considering the dysfunctional pelvic floor within the sporting body
  • an application of the principles of load tolerance to the pelvic floor
  • understanding of how to screen athletes/sportspersons for pelvic floor dysfunction
  • management options for the dysfunctional sporting pelvic floor
  • insights into adjunctive products for supporting pelvic floor function
  • understanding of the current scientific understanding for pelvic floor training as part of all athlete programming
  • case examples
  • the opportunity for Q+A and case discussion

Audience: This course is open to all healthcare and wellness professionals.
