What You’ll Do

  • Provide assessment, treatment, and education to all inpatient, outpatient, and regional clients
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate methods of treatment while modifying when necessary
  • Contributes to departmental operational plan while advancing the goals and objectives of the organization
  • Develops, establishes, and maintains standards of knowledge, skills, and competence by developing programs to promote continuing education
  • Comply with all regulations and professional directives as provided by the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario

What You Bring

  • Current registration with College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
  • Masters degree in Physical Therapy
  • Experience working in a hospital setting is considered an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a large/diversified workload with rapidly changing priorities and challenging deadlines
  • ADP authorizer for mobility devices (wheelchairs & walkers) – or willing to obtain
  • Knowledge and sensitivity of Indigenous health issues and of the geographic region

Physiotherapist

The South East Grey Community Health Centre (SEGCHC) is a non-profit organization committed to providing primary care services and health programs to the residents of Chatsworth, Grey Highlands, Southgate and West Grey. We are building healthier communities through: health promotion, illness prevention & comprehensive, client-centered primary healthcare. The SEGCHC is currently recruiting for a Registered Physiotherapist. This is a permanent 1.0 FTE, reporting to the Manager of Allied Health. We offer the HOOPP pension, 3 weeks paid vacation to start, 10 sick/discretionary days, 13 statutory holidays, some flexibility with hours, employee’s benefits are covered at 100% and there are external and internal continuing education opportunities. Key Responsibilities include:

  1. Advocating on the behalf of clients, participating in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of care programs and services for individuals, families and communities.
  2. Working with clients to identify and improve their movement and function. Helping to promote their clients’ health and wellbeing, and assisting in the rehabilitation process by developing and restoring body systems, in particular the neuromuscular, musculoskeletal, cardiovascular and respiratory systems.
  3. Developing and reviewing individually tailored treatment plans.
  4. Treating a wide variety of conditions, such as injuries (including sports injuries), fractures, orthopaedics, post-surgical rehabilitation, arthritis, strokes, musculoskeletal conditions, women’s health, posture and movement, neurological conditions. Treatment involves encouraging exercise and movement with the use of techniques such as therapeutic exercise and movement, massage, manual therapy and modalities for pain control and functional improvement.
  5. Charting in a clinic wide electronic medical record, participating in chart reviews and making the appropriate referrals
  6. Educating and advising clients and care providers on prevention and/or ways to improve conditions
  7. Liaising with an interdisciplinary team to supply and receive relevant information about the background and progress of clients, as well as referring patients who require other specific medical attention.

Education and Experience Required:

  1. Current registration and in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.
  2. Three to five years of experience in an outpatient rehab setting would be an asset.
  3. Experience in Physiotherapy program development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation
  4. Demonstrated experience working in a multidisciplinary team.
  5. Commitment to and understanding of the Community Health Centre model of health and well-being.
  6. Advanced proficiency in the use of computers and various software applications including Microsoft Office and electronic medical records (Practice Solutions experience would be considered as asset).
  7. GLA:D training, pelvic floor training or experience/training for physio in Pregnancy, would be an asset
  8. Experience working with diverse populations and equity focused initiatives is an asset
  9. Working knowledge in more than one language is an asset.
